The Integrated Front-End Power System (IFPS) offers a cutting-edge solution for power take-off (PTO) for vessels with 2-stroke engines where installation space is limited. Its compact design makes it suitable for both newbuilds as well as retrofit projects. Space-Saving Design

IFPS is engineered with a flat gear unit and short generators, making it ideal for vessels with minimal installation space. Its compact layout provides a practical alternative to traditional PTO arrangements between the main engine and propeller.

Seamless Integration

The IFPS is attached the front-end of the main 2-stroke engine and does not require a foundation. For newbuilds the IFPS is mounted on the main engine prior to delivery to the shipyard. It is approved by both MAN ES and WinGD and does not affect the engine warranty. Due to its compactness (1,6 m length), it is highly suited to retrofit projects. The system connects to the crankshaft via an intermediate central shaft and a flexible coupling. This ensures smooth and reliable power transmission, minimizing vibrations and wear for enhanced durability.

Adaptable Power Output

On the IFPS gearbox you can mount up to four PM generators which can deliver from 500 kW up to 2.500 kW net electric power. This makes it suitable for a variety of ship types and operational needs.
